For contentious matters, we have acted in various quora, including:

  • All levels of Court in Malaysia

  • Arbitration under various institutional rules (such as International Chamber of Commerce, Asian International Arbitration Centre and Malaysian Institute of Architects [PAM])

  • Adjudication under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012

Our team has considerable knowledge and experience in construction disputes including issues relating to payments, variation works, delay, professional negligence, termination and performance bond. We are familiar with various standard forms and conditions of contract including PAM 1998, 2006 and PWD/ JKR 2007.

Aside from dispute resolution, our clients also tap into our knowledge for non-contentious matters such as consultation, project management and drafting contracts.

For 3 consecutive years, our construction team was ranked by Benchmark Litigation as one of the Notable Firms in Construction Law. Our construction team was also nominated as a finalist of ALB Malaysia Law Awards 2023 in the category of Arbitration Law Firm of the Year. Furthermore, the team was ranked by Asialaw in 2022 and 2023.

  • Acting for a main contractor in a RM 160 million arbitration dispute against a subcontractor involving a steam cracker plant in the RAPID Project in Pengerang Johor Darul Takzim. 

  • Acting for a specialist design and build contractor in a RM 37 million involving the design and construction of the Automated Storage and Retrieval System for the Ministry of Defence. 

  • Acted for a main contractor in a RM 25 million arbitration dispute involving the construction of a research and development building in the University of Technology Petronas. 

  • Acting for a main contractor in an arbitration dispute involving the Sungai Malacca Rehabilitation and Beautification Project. 

  • Advising a specialist design and build contractor involving the design and construction of large scale solar photovoltaic plants. 

  • Acted for a main contractor to obtain an injunction against a demand on a performance bond on grounds of unconscionability.  

  • Acted for a main contractor in a RM 86 million dispute involving the Butik Botak Squatter Re-settlement scheme against the state government. 

  • Acted for a main contractor in a dispute involving wrongful termination by a state owned development corporation. 

  • Acted for earthwork subcontractors in a dispute involving an integrated golf and country club township.  

  • Acted in a RM 28 million dispute involving excavation of rock material against government linked companies. 

  • Acted for a contractor in an arbitration dispute involving a sewage treatment plant against a national sewerage consortium. 

  • Acted for consultant engineer in a dispute involving alleged structural failure and soil condition 

  • Acted in a subrogation claim involving the design and construct of the fire safety system in a furniture factory in Pulau Pinang. 

  • Acted for subcontractors and main contractors in numerous adjudication proceedings.
